"With a vibrant, sassy mix of jazz, hip-hop, mambo, swing and pop, Emerald's debut - Deleted Scenes From the Cutting Room Floor - is decidedly commercial, nestling neatly beside the showgirl vibes of Paloma Faith." was the coment from BBC News.

Zee Avi Malaysian dream come true

Posted Posted by ts lim in Comments 0 comments

I was walking, shopping in Popular Book store and I heard her, So stylish, individually jazz personal style. I try to ignore but I couldn't, so I walk up to the counter and ask who is singing now, they give me a name "Zee Avi", I thought what kind of name is that? She from Indonesia? looks like one. Sorry to say it didn't (not never) cross my mind that she is local Malaysian. Groovy kind of singing, happy with little sad lyrics, how odd? But I cannot erase her voice from my mind, and fall in love with first "heard".

Really interesting lyrics.

Zee Avi - Concrete Wall

First love in jazz guitar

Posted Posted by ts lim in Comments 0 comments

It was 1982 that I bought this cassette, don't know what it was than, just want to hear some guitar music. At first I feel that it was noisy and unharmonized, but after some time I find it really enjoyable to listen to, I start falling in love with it. Paco de Lucia, Al Di Meola and John Mclaughlin play Mediterranean Sundance, splendid!

This one got cd already.

I love them together, but they are too great individually to stay together.

Rekindle my dream -Tommy Emmanuel

With this song, I fall in love with Tommy Emmanuel. I was at a book shop, when I over heard this song. Don't know who Tommy Emmanuel than, but I liked John McLaughlin, Al Demeola and Paco De Lucia, Mediterranean Sundance Friday Night in San Francisco. He remind me of them, an I got to have it, end up buying his cd that day.

He rekindle my dream of guitar playing. I wish, I hope that I can play like him. He gave guitar heir soul, reminds me that my guitar is still alive.

He reinvent guitar playing.

This is the real gas.

Ever seen this? crazy jam

安全地帶Anzenchitai

How could I left out Anzenchitai from Japanese pop music. They're not only jazz, they can rock, they're sentimental.most of their sentimental song will let you fall in love in an instant, but their jazz title you can repeatedly listen to it and find the more you play it the better it sound, that is the magic of Anzenchitai.

It's been such a long time, this song I think has been decades, still good.

August Rush

When she sings jazz, she sound so little girl, so cute, why ? when she sing her sweedish song, she sound more like older lady. I don't know. Maybe its the style of the song she sings, when she sing sweedish song it is more like pop folk style, and when she sing jazz style she sound so cute, I fall in love with her "Now or never." this song led me to want to listen more of her song.
