I used to complain about those Chinese singer who just took some English songs or Japanese song and put some lyrics and sell it like hot cake. Why don't they put some effort into it, compose their own and we fans can anticipate some improvement in our own music scene. But today, when Robert Cray pop into my mine, I can't help but thank those song converter who introduce these great musician to me...

Because of YouTube keep deleting video, I am correcting my post, as I am doing this I came across this you-tuber Wayne傻傻, he did a great video summarizing many songs by Chinese singer singing covers of many Japanese songs. This sadly proof that many famous Chinese singer lack composing creativity. Any way thanks to this video, it introduce yet another Japanese singer I might fall in love with, with some additional research I found the singer name in Chinese,  过亚弥乃 Ayano Tsuji.

Thank you Wayne傻傻

Paul Simon 1980 One Trick Pony

The first time I listen to this, I thought to myself, o, Paul Simon is loosing his grip. But than the music of this album stick to my brain, so I keep coming back to this song to try to look for something of a folksy Paul Simon, I think , maybe it was hidden some place in between the song. Than I became familiar with the tune and I starts to change my way of liking music, it starts to broaden my acceptance to more types of music and certainly deepen my enjoyment towards listening music. So this album became one of my favorites album. The end.

Now I put it into rock, but listen to it closely, you'll find some ska element in it...

Yesterday once more

When you are forty something and heard your favourite song, first ever favourite song, how would you feel? I was 12 years old or maybe 10, when I unconciously fall in love with this song, it will play in my head, over and over again, and always brings up this warm feeling inside my belly, and I love it. Thirty years later those feeling still lingers when I heard this song, if not stronger, age is catching up on me, getting old...first fall in love....

My new found love-Caro Emerald

"With a vibrant, sassy mix of jazz, hip-hop, mambo, swing and pop, Emerald's debut - Deleted Scenes From the Cutting Room Floor - is decidedly commercial, nestling neatly beside the showgirl vibes of Paloma Faith." was the coment from BBC News.
I just love the beat that she produces. 40 50's jazz, just love those jazz erra, been searching for this kind of music all my life, and here come and old style with a modern touch.

She has such a groovy vioce.

The big yellow taxi

Once in a while a cover version sound not less better than the original. Maybe it's the technology, maybe this one is less wild or more refrain than the original one, and make it more commercialized. Sometime commercialized is not bad at all, it made all that easier to swallow.

Big Yellow Taxi ~ Counting Crows

This is the original singer, Joni Mitchell. Not saying that her version is not better than the counting crow version. I love it just the same.

Later on Joni put up a new version of her own. very creative one. I love it, not same but love it another ....?

It's funny a cover version can sound "OLDER" than the original one.

This one manage to turn the big yellow taxi into small blue one.
